Windows should priorities the wired network over wireless, however this is not always the case. Whether it’s due to when the network is created is unsure. To force Windows to always pick the wired as default over wireless it set in the network adapter settings.
Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Change Adapter Settings (left menu)
In Adapter Settings press ALT to display the menu. Select Advanced -> Advanced Settings…
In the tab “Adapters and Bindings” locate the Connections list. You’ll have something similar to the image below. Now select your wired network, here it’s “Local Area Connection” and press the button up so the Local Area Connection is above Wireless Connection.
Windows will now automatically take the wired connection over the wireless. Beware that Windows will still display the wireless icon over the wired connection. Don’t worry it will be using the wired connection even though the icon is the wireless connections.
